my april classes at hill country weavers
I have two classes scheduled this month at Hill Country Weavers, and today I was asked to sub for a teacher in her “ongoing” project class. Busy month!
Crochet Edging for Knitters
April 14th, 2012
Don’t let a crochet edging scare you away from any new knitting projects! In this class knitters will learn how to crochet an edging around a small knit sample, and will be introduced to simple crochet stitches, chain stitches, and basic crochet techniques. This is a great gateway class into crocheting! Students need no previous experience, though knowledge of how to hold a crochet hook and yarn, and how to chain and/or make a single crochet stitch will be beneficial.
Materials: Size H or I crochet hook, worsted weight yarn (in contrasting color of swatch) and locking stitch markers
Class Prep: Students should bring a small, 4″x4″ knit swatch in stockinette using worsted weight yarn (any material)
April 22nd, 2012
Need a quick crochet fix? Need to learn a new stitch, a new technique, or have a new pattern to ponder? Crochet express is the answer. No prerequisites. This class is available to absolute beginners through intermediate students.
For absolute beginners: 1 skein of Cascade 128 and a size J hook.
For everyone else: whatever patterns you need to work on, and yarns and hooks for those patterns.
All of my classes take place at Hill Country Weavers, 1701 S. Congress, Austin, TX. Call the shop at (512) 707-7396 to reserve your spot. More information on classes at Hill Country Weavers can be found here.
